26/11/16 Berkshire Community Foundation’s 21st Birthday Celebration at Kerrith Centre, Bracknell

The students who were selected to form the folk academy band for these performances all made notable progress as a result of the experience. Friendships were formed across different instrumental classes within the academy whilst the additional sessions run as band rehearsals provided students with an opportunity to put together their own arrangements of tunes they’d learned. We are keen to repeat this part of the project again the third term of our 06-07 year. We have learned that our students thrive under a small amount of pressure and while working as part of a group and we intend to put this scheme into practice for each year group.

We have a serious commitment to diversity. It one of our highest priorities and is central to ongoing artistic practise. The work we have planned will involve a broad range of people, artists and participants whilst remaining true to the very highest standards of artistic excellence.
